SES PTO Update
Sunday, September 13, 2015
Dear Parents,

The Shenandoah Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome you to a new school year. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. The SES PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents.

The purpose of our organization is to aid the students and staff by providing support for educational and recreational needs; to promote open communication between administration, teachers and parents and to encourage SES school spirit and pride. The PTO uses its resources, both manpower and monetary, to support all the efforts of the staff of our school.

We are looking forward to meeting families, parents, and grandparents that would like to get involved with our PTO this school year. We encourage you to not only join our organization, but get involved as well! Everything we do is based on volunteers and we are always looking for those of you to help make a difference in the lives of our children. Every positive imprint we make on our children can go a long, long way. If you are able to give some time, day or evenings, please join us! Many hands make the job easier.

You can participate and help us make the 2015-2016 a great school year. We will need as many volunteers as possible, and are flexible enough to work around your schedule. Our group meets approximately once a month to discuss events, plan fundraisers to enhance all programs, and share ideas. This is a wonderful way to find out what is happening at our school from the PTO’s perspective.

We in the PTO believe that it is the ultimate importance that we do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children as they truly are our future. It will take all of us working together to ensure that this happens.

Our next meeting is October 5, 2015 from 5:00-6:00pm in the elementary conference room. We will be voting on Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary. We will also look to plan for our Bingo for Books event and upcoming events. You do not need to attend the meetings to be a part of the PTO! Please email me if you wish to assist in any way.

Our president, Lynn Joy, was voted into PTO presidency in the late spring due to the resignation of Deb Kraft as she moved out of the district for her husband's employment. We welcome you and your input!

Please watch for an email looking for assistance for Homecoming tattoos and the Book Fair during P/T conferences.

Thank you again and we look forward to another excellent school year!

Shenandoah Booster Club and Shenandoah Athletic Department Fundraiser
Friday, August 08, 2014

The Shenandoah Booster Club and Shenandoah Athletic Department will kick off a fundraiser on Monday, August 11th. Members of the high school cross country, football and volleyball teams will be selling a discount card that can be used in about twenty Shenandoah businesses. Profits will be split 50/50 with the Booster Club and Shenandoah Athletic Department to support the various needs of our programs and student/athletes.

Student/athletes will be selling the card for $20. The card has hundreds of dollars of value when used at the participating Shenandoah businesses. Card are valid from now until July 31, 2015.

We are in hopes that you will support our youth, the Booster Club and Athletic department with this fundraiser. In turn we feel this project supports a "shop Shenandoah" concept as well. We are in hopes of making this a win/win situation for our local businesses and the fundraiser.
